SoCal Tough Mudder

Weekend excursions aren’t always about new menu items or new drinks.  Sometimes its important to try out something that’s going to push you a little.  So on my trip out to West Coast I signed up for the SoCal Tough Mudder.  Its a 11 plus miles of mountains, obstacles, and mud. It was one of my highlights from my trip.
I know right now some of you are saying you can do this. How you’d be lucky to survive a mile. Ill tell you right now you can. The tough mudder is a challenge not a race. It can take you three hours or ten. All that matters is that you finish and everyone of the hundreds of participants that you don’t know will go out of there way to help you finish. I saw a person who couldn’t swim get across a lake, met a man three times my age scale a cargo net, and a girl who sprained her ankle get carried the last half of the race by her team mates. This is a mental game and all about dedicating yourself to making it to the end.
Ill be doing the Jersey Tough Mudder in November. It’s an inspiring race and a group of people you can be proud to be apart of.

Free Peek at the San Diego Zoo

One of the of the world famous attractions in San Diego is the San Diego Zoo and one of their biggest attractions are the pandas. While checking out the city our group had several types of people in it.  Some of the group were locals that have seen the zoo before, but we had one out of town visitor that loved pandas.  There was no way he was going to be in a city with pandas and not check them out, but the price for our four person group to go to the zoo just for one exhibit was just too much.  But we got the way around that!

Many parks including the San Diego Zoo have whats called a Shoppers Pass.  The cost of the pass is the same as admission but if you are in and out of the park in under thirty minutes you get the entire cost of the admission back.  This pass is suppose to be used to do some shopping in the park without having to pay admission.  A great way for locals to get out and do something different with their lunch break or see a new exhibit.  When we got in the zoo we went straight to Panda Canyon to check out the baby panda. We were there in under ten minutes and got to take some photos of the panda.  At the gift shop we picked up some souvenirs and the cashier was able to extend our pass for an additional thirty minutes.

If your really looking to see everything the zoo has to offer you can really make a day of it and the admission price is worth it, but if your looking to do a quick little trip this is the way to go.
